So where am I going ?

Well, the inital target was Nepal. It's always been on my mind. Years ago I bought the NGS map of the Annapurna circuit and soon after the travel guides for Nepal and Tibet. That, I felt, was bringing me somewhat closer to my dream.

I bought my one-way ticket to Kathmandu in April. Then, in May, I decided to join the Tour d'Afrique after my friends Maria and Spiros announced their participation in the Tour d'Afrique and asked me about joining them. That was it: once my appetite got stirred, it just kept growing until I decided to join. That's when all the excitement shifted from Nepal to Africa. Biking long stretches in preparation for the tour changed from painful to fun. Lately I became addicted and had to kind of force myself to walk around the neighborhood.

Tour d'Afrique had been somewhere on my list - I had found an article about it when I was still living in Toronto, and kept it (like many others) until a few months ago when - going through all the collections of magazines and papers in an effort to reduce their volume - I threw it away thinking that it'll never happen.

Because of my departure to Nepal on August 27th I had a much earlier deadline for my TDA preparations. I wanted and had to leave everything packed and ready to be shipped to Cairo. My plan is to not come back to Canada for that but get my bike shipped to Cairo where I'll get straight from Asia.

But before I even noticed it ... oops, time to get going!

How's the reflection of the beauty you see around you being felt inside your heart and mind?

What feelings, emotions, what dreams and spiritual enlightenment, peace and empathy to your fellow world travel, sadness for things left behind, longing to return where you left one day?
